Sankara eye hospital was established in 1981 by Dr N VishnuVardhan with a vision of establishing an Eye Hospital with state-of-the-art equipment within reach of an ordinary person.
The Hospital serves the East and West Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh and Northern parts of Telangana predominantly. Sankara Eye Hospital was registered as SRI SANKARA NETRA CHIKITSALAYA.
Dr Nadella Vishnuvardhan pursued his MBBS degree in Rangaraya Medical College-Kakinada. He started his ophthalmology career from Government Medical College Surat completing his Diploma in ophthalmology.
Soon after completion, his thirst for specialization led him to pursue M.S. Ophthalmology from prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore where he was trained for all kind of Eye surgeries.
After pursuing his Degree he started working as Consultant at Swathantra Mission Hospital Rajahmundry for Five Years Where he Performed More Than 200000 Surgeries. Later He commenced his practice as a single consultant in an eye clinic at 1981 at Eluru.
His compassionate care for his patients and surgical skills established him as one of pioneer in ophthalmology in Andhra Pradesh. He continued to render his service to all groups of people enabling super speciality eye care to reach doorstep of a common man.

Till date he has treated more than 3 million patients with his compassion, Knowledge and superior surgical skillset and performed more than one lakh surgeries.
He has conducted 3000 free camps treating more than 800000 patients aimed at VISION 2020. His believe in teamwork made him establish Sankara Netra Chikitsalaya group of eye hospitals.
